How to Choose and Use Keywords for Search Engine Optimization
Posted on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 by Unknown

Search engines are the main driver of website traffic. Optimizing your website for search engines is a good way to connect your audiences and attract visitors to your website. Websites that are optimized are more easily found.
Choose relevant keywords
Choose keywords that will describe the theme of your post. Make it clear that what your post is about, who the target audience is. Make a list of keywords that will represent the theme of the post. Find two or three relevant search terms that your audience is going to use when performing a search.
Write a keyword rich headline.
Your post headline is the most important line within your post and it must be keyword rich and express the theme of the post. Keep it to 80 characters or less and put your most important keywords at the beginning of the headline.
The page title is the name that the search engines use to identify your post as a web page within its database. Therefore it should be extremely relevant to the post.
If you need another line to further detail the theme, use a sub-headline, which will also be optimized. Utilize keywords in the first sentence of the first paragraph and throughout the content. People will read the first sentence of the first paragraph at first.
Search engines spider the first 300-500 words on a page. This is where your important terms should be located. If your news release is long, make sure not to isolate important terms at the bottom of the document.
However, if you use some keywords too many times within a post, search engines will identify them as "SPAM". So if your post is about 250 words in length, do not repeat your keywords more than three times.
Keywords should appear naturally within the context of your post. It is harmful to stuff your post with keywords.
Write naturally in a human manner
Make sure to keep the entire content natural so that readers are unaware that placement of your keywords throughout the post is planned. If you want visitors to click the link at the end of the post, you should keep in mind that the more natural your post is, the more likely they are going to click the URL.
Use anchor text to build links
Use anchor text to build links so that visitors can easily get more information. Simply embed links in the Word document. Link relevant keywords to build important backlinks. Write out the full URLs to particularly important sites. Many websites do not render anchor text. Include full URLs in addition to anchor text so that interested visitors always have a call to action and a place to go for more information. Use anchor text in the body of your post, not the headline or subhead. Websites will not render anchor text in your headline or subhead.
