How Can a CMS (Content Management System) Help You Build Your Blog

A Content Management System is a software tool installed on a web server designed to facilitate the management of site content, freeing the administrator from technical knowledge of web programming.

This has allowed the flourishing of millions of blogs around the world, thanks to modern CMS. Once you create the web site, you can add and edit content without having to contact the programmers.

The end user is the owner of the site you can manage yourself. CMS is technically a server-side application that is based on an existing database for content storage, and divided into two parts: the administration section (back end), which serves to organize and supervise the production of content, and application section (front end), the user uses the web to watch content and applications on the site.

The CMS administrator (often the site owner) operates from its own terminal, via an interface and control panel, add or edit content. The CMS can be achieved by programming in a variety of web languages including most commonly in ASP, PHP,. NET, the type of language used is irrelevant in terms of functionality. Some languages make the CMS platform, while others usufruibile only on proprietary platforms. The leader CMS are Joomla and WordPress. They are based on server-side language PHP. Both of these CMS, besides being open source and free, are optimized for the development of websites.

The two are very different CMS. Joomla is more suited to the creation of complex web pages, powerful data management modules that make up each page of the site. On the other hand, is not fit to manage blogs and less user-friendly interface for the end customer. WordPress, however, has an excellent user interface that makes life easier for those who need to load the contents of the site although it is more complicated to use for someone who needs to create the site. Both platforms can be integrated with a large amount of additional components that can implement any type of web service that you want.

Look at our sites built with Joomla and WordPress. A CMS allows you to create and manage a dynamic site, also very large, without writing a single line of HTML and without knowledge of server-side programming languages (like PHP) or design a special database. The appearance of the pages can be customized by choosing a specific stylesheet for a particular CMS. The flat file CMS, otherwise known as text-based CMS, content management systems that rely on text files XML files (most of the time) and therefore does not need any database like MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.. These CMS are easily installed and are therefore particularly suitable for personal sites or small communities.
